From the SL Mail List:

QUOTE
Hi,
I have loved all the years that I have been a developer and architect for Scientific Linux, but it is time for me to move on.  I have accepted a job offer from Red Hat to work on their new openshift project.
My last day working for Fermilab, and on the Scientific Linux project will be September 2, 2011.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged, thanked, and helped me over
the past 8 years that I have worked on Scientific Linux.  I have said it  before, and I'll say it now, The Scientific Linux community is one of  the best communities there is.

Troy

Congrats Troy!

Yes, best of luck indeed.

Is there any word on a successor for the Scientific Linux project?

Oh, and who owns the rights to the term "Spiky Haired Hawaiian Shirt Guy"? wink.gif

Troy has been doing his best to inform his succesor (which will be done in a good manner). But since the person officially in charge with announcing who that is going to be we have to wait.

That is something we will be missing since that is "owned" by Troy wink.gif

On the SL mailinglist someone asked if Troy will remain active on it.
His answer was short and simple:

QUOTE
The answer is no.  Scientific Linux has been such a part of my life for
so long that I need to have a clean cut to separate myself from it.
That is the only way it would be fair to my new employer.
That would be true whoever my new employer is.
It is possible that sometime in the future I might join the SL lists
again and answer a question or two.  But for now, I will not be on any
SL mailing lists after September 2.

Thanks to everyone
Troy

As such, I fear we will be losing Troy here too sad.gif
Mr. SL will be leaving the building in couple of days.

Looks like Connie will be lead developer. She started the project in 1998.

No official news yet ... but I think she will be.
