For those with fond memories of Tux Racer, you might want to try the fork Extreme Tux Racer.
In everything it resembles the original Tux Racer. All you need to do is download 4 RPM flles depending your system (i686 or x86_64): 32-bits / i686 extremetuxracer-0.4-3.fc12.i686.rpm extremetuxracer-common-0.4-3.fc12.noarch.rpm extremetuxracer-papercuts-fonts-0.4-3.fc12.noarch.rpm extremetuxracer-papercuts-outline-fonts-0.4-3.fc12.noarch.rpm Download these files here. 64-bits / x86_64 extremetuxracer-0.4-3.fc12.x86_64.rpm extremetuxracer-common-0.4-3.fc12.noarch.rpm extremetuxracer-papercuts-fonts-0.4-3.fc12.noarch.rpm extremetuxracer-papercuts-outline-fonts-0.4-3.fc12.noarch.rpm Download these files here -------------------- What is SL? - Forum Rules - Info on 3rd Party Repos - How to post images - How to post large text / config files

Seems to also require opengl-games-utils, and libSLD_mixer. I didn't see the latter available in the Fedora repo given in the link.

Thanks for pointing this out. Those packages were already installed on my system, so that is why they didn't show.
opengl-games-utils-0.1-9.el6.noarch.rpm: link SDL_mixer-1.2.11-3.el6.x86_64.rpm: link (is for EL6, not Fedora 6 as mentioned on the website) -------------------- What is SL? - Forum Rules - Info on 3rd Party Repos - How to post images - How to post large text / config files

Yup that did it. (It required a few other things that were available with normal yum, zenity and something else I've already forgotten.)
Thanks. ![]() |

In my experience, it helps to have a reasonably modern driver for your video card. In my experience, some cards will work well with the open-source drivers. nVidia supports their linux customers quite well while open-sourced radeonhd drivers are a little more difficult to find. My advice would be to check that also. Extreme Tux racer sails with a good setup
