Hi all, I tried to run the SL6 LiveCD: boot is hanging on my Thinkpad x40 (Pentium 4 - 1.4 )Ghz I downloaded the SL6 Net Install and now I have this error:
Packages downloaded: SL-60-i386-2011-03-07-LiveCD.iso SL-60-i386-2011-03-03-boot.iso These were downloaded from: http://ftp1.scientificlinux.org/linux/scie...c/6.0/i386/iso/ I've been using linux since Red Hat 2 and I never seen this type of situation. I want to checkout SL6 on my X40 with the project to install it on my servers, which are running on Fedora 13 & 14 for now. Since CentOS seems to be a bit lethargic lately, I decide to explore SL6 possibilities... |

Yes, rhel6 32-bit kernels require PAE support.
Based on it being a pentium 4, your system should have it. Two suggestions: 1. Check your bios settings for any pae-related settings that can be enabled 2. Check for a bios update |
