Dear all,

I'm using the meshing tool Gambit from Ansys. The software crashed with a fatal error. It seems it depends on the following warning:

CODE
Received X Intrinsics Warning <Cannot convert string "-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-*-120-75-75-*-*-*" to type FontStruct>.
Received X Intrinsics Warning <Cannot convert string "-adobe-helvetica-bold-r-normal-*-*-120-75-75-*-*-*" to type FontStruct>.
Received X Intrinsics Warning <Cannot convert string "-adobe-helvetica-bold-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-*-*-*" to type FontStruct>.
Received X Intrinsics Warning <Cannot convert string "-adobe-courier-medium-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-*-*-*" to type FontStruct>.
Received X Intrinsics Warning <Cannot convert string "-adobe-courier-medium-r-normal-*-*-120-75-75-*-*-*" to type FontStruct>.
Received X Intrinsics Warning <Cannot convert string "-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-*-*-*" to type FontStruct>.

Does anyone has an idea how I can install these fonts?
Someone else has solved the same problem under Ubuntu, but I did not find the packages mentioned there.

Thanks for any hints,

Cheers Moritz

install it with standard
CODE

yum install packagename

update your xorg.conf (if needed) with font paths as suggested there
for example mine:
CODE

cd /usr/share/X11/fonts

[root@srv-129 fonts]# ls -al
total 48
drwxr-xr-x. 7 root root    70 Mar  5 00:19 .
drwxr-xr-x. 7 root root   107 Jul 26  2014 ..
drwxr-xr-x. 2 root root 16384 Mar  5 00:19 100dpi
drwxr-xr-x. 2 root root 16384 Mar  5 00:19 75dpi
drwxr-xr-x. 3 root root    18 Jul 26  2014 encodings
drwxr-xr-x. 2 root root  4096 Jul 26  2014 Type1
drwxr-xr-x. 2 root root  4096 Jul 26  2014 util

mesa-utils is specific to debian/ubuntu and i dont think you need it, from what i found, it has tools for eg. determining VGA driver

hope it helps,
cheers :]
