This is an obvious one, even this forum has rules.

Simple and to the point:

1) Be nice to each other
2) No flaming, trolling, personal attacks, or other pointless stuff.
3) Post your messages in English (no other language)
4) And please, normal English, nothing like w00t/m8/etc.
5) No advertising, sales or any other kind of commercial activities.
6) Nothing that is illegal, sexual, contains nudity (real or fake), etc.
7) Moderators reserve the right to remove/adjust things.
8) Although not a must, we do appriciate it when you introduce yourself here
9) Each user is allowed to use ONE (1) account. The use of more accounts by the same user is not allowed.
Users violating this rule will be informed to have all accounts removed except one. Ignoring means a permanent ban.

As a result of our forums growth, we have additional rules for the signatures.
In order to keep things clean and readable the following is expected from all users:

Signatures may contain text or an image, but not combined (so either text or graphics).
Depending on what you choose, stick to the following:

Graphics
* One image is allowed, with max. width of 500px and max. height of 100px.
* If you want to use userbars, you may use up to 5 userbars (sized 350 x 19 pixels) instead of one large image.
* NO animated graphics.

Text
* Max. 5 lines of text with a font-size that is normal or small
* Font decorations like bold, italic and underlined are allowed.

These new rules are effective immediately.
We expect all users to change their signature accordingly.

Although I has been mentioned somewhere on the forum, please keep in mind that any avatar you want to use should not be larger than 85 x 85 pixels. Please adjust any image you want to use.

After some discussion regarding a removed topic, we feel that additional rules are needed to clearify things.
To be specific, rules about when and why a posting will be removed from the forum.

A posting will be removed when the following has happened:
1. A post is in violation with the forum rules, or offensive to one or more members on a "reasonable" level (a very good reason).
2. The member who posted it is informed about the violation and reason why the post will be removed.
3. One of the administrators is also informed about the situation (and reason for removal).
4. The informed administrator will make a final decision about the removal.

Note: this forum is about Linux, SL and lots of fun. But please keep in mind that all the members come from around the world.
Something you like might be offensive to others. Respect others and try to understand that someone might not share the same kind of interests, hobbies or humor!
