Hi guys,
i use KVM on my laptop (i'm simply fan, even though the Virtual Box would be easier) and had problem with sharing Clipboard contents in between host and guest (unfortunatelly KVM doesn't have this 'shared clipboard' feature like the e.g. Virtual Box has. On laptop it is annoying. Gave it another try today and finally found 'Synergy' (open source project). url: Synergy It enable this feature over network (which is perfectly feasible for KVM host / guests). Works like charm for me. It is simple server/client app. I installed 'server' part on my linux host and 'client part on my windows kvm guest. Now, finally, can copy & paste easy cheers, -------------------- |

Hi helikaon,
That is cool feature. For those that use spice-server/spice-client that function is also available, though I have never tried to used that function. see: http://spice-space.org/page/Whiteboard/AgentProtocol With spice you are suppose to be able to share USB ports between a remote host/guest also, but again I have not tried that either. |

Enable Spice display and QXL virtual video card for the guest in virt-manager and inside the guest install and make sure it's started the spice-vdagent package.
This needs a graphical interface running of course. Vdagent can also be installed in Windows guests. -------------------- |

I can now confirm that cut and past from guest to guest or host to guest works with spice.
Just as Nux said make sure to have the vdagent running in the guest and have the service spice-vdagentd running on the host. Hope this helps, |
