Hey all. I'm trying to dual boot SL 6.2 32-bit with Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 32-bit on a Lenovo Thinkpad S10 netbook. Windows 7 is already installed, but the SL installer does not detect it and reports that the hard drive is not partitioned but may contain data. The only way it lets me proceed with the installation is if I choose to 'discard all data.' Oddly enough, the same dual boot configuration with the 64-bit versions of both operating systems does not result in this error and installs just fine. What am I missing here?
By the way, I also tried this with SL 6.1 32-bit with no success. |

Doesn't the installer give you the option "custom partitioning"? That's what I always use. -------------------- My personal SL6 repository, specialized in audio/video software: http://pkgrepo.linuxtech.net/el6/

The 'custom partitioning' option comes after I am forced to select 'discard all data.' At that point, the installer presents my hard drive as an empty drive without any existing partitions. If I choose 'keep data,' then the installer states that there are no other storage devices available and gives me the option to exit.
On my 64-bit system, the SL installer detected my Windows partition just fine and it was visible on the drive under 'custom partitioning.' I don't understand why this is happening. |

Can you provide the output of fdisk -l at the point when it asks you to 'discard all data.'? You need to press Ctrl+Alt+F1 or F2 or F3 or F4 (can't remember which one, just try them one after another) to get a shell prompt where you can type 'fdisk -l'. -------------------- My personal SL6 repository, specialized in audio/video software: http://pkgrepo.linuxtech.net/el6/
