hi,
I have worked on Scientifix Linux 5 and now installed fresh Scientifix Linux 6 with openldap and samba . I'm having a bit of issue with finding the slapd.conf file. There is a folder for slap.d/ but no conf file in it by default. I can see folders cacerts schema sldap.d and ldap.conf file.I think in the new versions of Fedora,Centos AND Scientifix Linux 6 there is no slapd.conf file.So now where to start ? I have google a lot but find the old methos to configure slapd.conf file .Please please help me. thanks gardenair |

Hellow gardenair and welcome to Scientific Linux Fora,
You can find slapd in SL6/RHEL6 located in: /usr/share/openldap-servers/ Not sure why they changed it from /etc... for version 6. Hope this helps, This post has been edited by AndrewSerk: Mar 19 2012, 02:43 PM |

You can always create a symbolic link to 'circumvent' the change.

Hello gardenair, you need to install the following packages: openldap openldap-servers openldap-devel This package is also helpful: migrationtools If you ran into problem setting up your openldap server, let me know. Thanks |
