I've been trying to install Scientific Linux 6.0 in virtual machine in win7 and I keep getting this error telling me that the kernel does not have certain features.

Since virtual box does not have a "Scientific Linux" option, would changing this option to something different change my outcome?

I will ask the obvious question first. Is your operating system 32 bit or 64 bit? Is the version of Scientific Linux 32 bit or 64 bit. A 64 bit host can have 32 or 64 bit clients. A 32 bit host can only have 32 bit clients.

Alternatively, look at the VirtualBox Settings. The System menu has an option to turn on PAE/NX or have it turned off. Perhaps this is the issue.
Good luck.
