Hello ,

First of all sory for my poor english !

I try to install iscsi-scst. For this you need to apply a patch to the kernel and rebuild the kernel. When I try to rebuild the kernel the following error occurred
CODE
crypto/signature/ksign-publickey.c:2:17: error: key.h: No such file or directory
crypto/signature/ksign-publickey.c: In function ‘ksign_init’:
crypto/signature/ksign-publickey.c:10: error: ‘ksign_def_public_key’ undeclared (first use in this function)
crypto/signature/ksign-publickey.c:10: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
crypto/signature/ksign-publickey.c:10: error: for each function it appears in.)
crypto/signature/ksign-publickey.c:11: error: ‘ksign_def_public_key_size’ undeclared (first use in this function)
make[2]: *** [crypto/signature/ksign-publickey.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [crypto/signature] Error 2
make: *** [crypto] Error 2

CODE

uname -r
2.6.32-220.2.1.el6.i686

There is a fix for that ?

Thank You !

Hi marchand,
there is always hope, because everything is possible on Linux smile.gif
But, from your post it is not possible to help you.
You need that someone will try to patch it and recompile, to try to help you, so you need to share here exactly what you did, where you get kernel sources, (looks like vanilla kernel?) and not SL? Where you downloaded patch ... links, steps, everything ... then community can try and help ... smile.gif

cheers,

Hi there,

I wrote a usefull guide on installing scst, iscsi-scst & scstadmin. You can find it @ http://monklinux.blogspot.com/

This covers compilation of the kernel - the whole nine yards.

Marchand, I faced your problem and fixed it by disabling 2 kernel directives, as follows :
run make menuconfig.
1) Select "Enable loadable module support", then "Module signature verification (EXPERIMENTAL)". Disable it.
2) Then go back to the main menu, select "Cryptographic API" then "In-kernel signature checker (EXPERIMENTAL)" and disable that one too.
Then go back again, save your config and make your kernel. At least, it will pass this phase successfully.

HTH.

Pascal.

Excellent! That must have taken some doing, finding those specific parameters that caused the crypto subsystem from building correctly.

Saved me some significant time and a potential headache, cheers!

Hello. I'm trying to set up scst in SL6 by compile from sources.
I'm installed kernel-devel and when i try to path kernel i see this error:
CODE
can't find file to patch at input line 4
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
The text leading up to this was:
--------------------------
|diff -upkr linux-2.6.32/block/blk-map.c linux-2.6.32/block/blk-map.c
|--- linux-2.6.32/block/blk-map.c       2009-12-02 22:51:21.000000000 -0500
|+++ linux-2.6.32/block/blk-map.c       2011-05-17 20:56:18.341812997 -0400
--------------------------

Please help, i googled many tutorials and can't find solution to install SCST in SL6
