I noticed something very interesting: I installed SL61 on a toshiba tecra laptop. In my house I have a router with wifi access point secured with wpa password.

No linux could actually detect my wireless, windows could. By playing with iwlist for the first time in my life, I noticed my neighbour's wifi networks and their channel. I logged in my wifi router and seen the channel 10 was preselected. I choose then a lower channel (ex 5) and suddenly this linux could see the my network.
