Hi there,
this is CPU based VGA you have (2nd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 3000/2000) Is it the only present VGA on your system, or do you have some other VGA present? can you post here output of commands: lspci lsusb What is current resolution you have configured now? What type of machine you have? Laptop? Desktop? What Linux desktop do you use? KDE? Gnome? How is you VGA detected - post here output of commands: dmesg | grep -i intel dmesg | grep -i vga if these commands don't return any relevant info, use just command dmesg and scroll through wall of text to find any relevant info about VGA and post it here .. After we know these details, we can have a look on the Xorg server drivers and settings. cheers, This post has been edited by helikaon: Dec 16 2011, 10:01 AM -------------------- |

Hi, Ok, so you see in your Gnome display setting the 1680x1050 option but you can't use it? can you post here the /etc/X11/xorg.conf This is config file of you X server, so we need to have a look on this one too ... Also, post the list of possible resolution of you desktop screen... ![]() cheers -------------------- |

Hi there,
try to edit and add "Modes" line to the this section called "subsection display":
in "Modes" line list all modes you LCD (CRT) monitor support starting with highest. Then restart X server, or restart the machine. note, i'm not quite sure this gonna work, in your driver section it says, you use vesa driver. Also note, that you use the SL 5.x which i'm not sure will have the newest driver for Intel video card. Cant you upgrade to version 6.x? We'll see further .. cheers, cheers, -------------------- |

Hi, I was wandering if you could help me with a similar problem. I seem to be having a lot of display issues. Kind of at my wits end with it in fact! I am on SL 6.3.
xrandr gives me:
lspci:
lsusb:
dmesg | grep -i intel:
dmesg | grep -i vga:
xorg.conf
