Hi,

This post is kind of curiosity. Yesterday I met my colleague, he is admin working for hosting provider.

He told me there is old box with RH 4, running on it (untouchable !). Time to time in kernel log appears
sequence of '<4>' , say '<4><4><4>', can be longer, but length changes.

It is mystery for him. Does this sequence make sense?

Sorry, I made mistake, of course it is not about RH 4 (Red Hat 4) but RHEL 4.

I will ask my colleague. Well, he said that there is something special on that machine running, Java backend application, maybe Oracle database. But I'm guessing a little now.
