I don't know if this is the right place but...
Can one of the developers pass on these issues to upstream? 1. I recently updated my printer/scanner (Photosmart 6510) but the version of Hplip in 6.2 and 6.3 does not detect the scanner. The latest version does but I can't get it to install due to dependency problems. 2. http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=12145 This evolution bug is present in the version shipped with EL6. It goes back to October 2009 and needs to be fixed. Cheers Kingsley |

There are no distro developers on here, we are all just users.
You can report bugs directly yourself on the Redhat bugzilla web site: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/ All you need is an email address to register, and when you do the bug report say RHEL 6.2 instead of SL 6.2. I have done several bug reports and some have been fixed already. With regards to HPlip I can try to package up a newer version For SL6, but I can't guarantee that I will succeed with it or can't say when it will be ready (maybe today if it turns out to be easy, or next weekend or maybe never if it's too hard). -------------------- My personal SL6 repository, specialized in audio/video software: http://pkgrepo.linuxtech.net/el6/

Ok, I have rebuilt the Fedora hplip 3.12.2 packages for SL6, they are in the linuxtech-backports repo (see link below).
Please let me know if they work fine or not, I haven't tested them as I don't own any HP printer or scanner. -------------------- My personal SL6 repository, specialized in audio/video software: http://pkgrepo.linuxtech.net/el6/

If anyone with the appropriate HP hardware tries out my backported hplip packages please respond to this thread with a brief comment on whether they work or not (5 people have already downloaded them according to the repo logs).
I don't have HP hardware myself so the packages are completely untested and I feel uncomfortable having them in the repo without knowing if they actually work or not. -------------------- My personal SL6 repository, specialized in audio/video software: http://pkgrepo.linuxtech.net/el6/
