Hi
I am trying to install VMWare 12.1.0 on SL7. While installing, it says -
"Kernel headers for version 3.10.0-327.3.1.el7.x86_64 were not found."
[I would like to attach screenshots of these messages but unable to do so]
When I go to /usr/src/kernels , its empty.
When I try to install it by downloading and installing the
kernel-headers-3.10.0-327.3.1.el7.x86_64.rpm,
the message I get is that its already installed.
can someone please help me?
thank you

Try also installing kernel-devel. You need the header files and the devel kernel to build wink.gif

If you want to do virtualization under linux I would recommend KVM over vmware. Since kvm is a native linux virtualization layer, see post

Thank you. That helped.
#yum update kernel
#yum install kernel-devel

But yes, I will give the KVM a try. Thanks for the suggestion.
