I have a very weird problem. Whenever there is moving flash content on a site and I am looking at it I get a crackling sound in my speakers. As soon as I shift focus to another tab the crackling sound goes away. If I open another window with something so the moving flash content is hidden behind the new window no crackling either.

This happens with all programs, as soon as there is sound coming out of the computer and flash, crackling sound.

I checked the Sound preferences and is says ALSA plug in when I stream stuff, how can I change this to PulseAudio?

Also I would like to know how I can find out which WLAN driver I'm using and which Graphics driver.

Hi,
just wild shot - is the system settings on your box same for video as same as for music? I mean if you have same output device preference on both - video and sound ..

cheers,

Yes the output device was the same. But I could have swore it was using Pulseaudio, then I wanted to see if I could hear any difference running audacious with Alsa, and then everything went sour. In the end the coputer felt slow and not very responsive when it had been turned on for a few days.

Hi,
you talk in 'past time' so, is it solved, or not? It almost sound like something has been even buried, deep, like 6feet ... hope not your box, that would be shame biggrin.gif

cheers

Yeah It got solved in the end, but the solution was "distrohopping" smile.gif

For the time being I think I will wait with SL and try a few other distros until I find one that works good with my problematic hardware.
