Hello all,

I have downloaded SL-71-x86_64-2015-04-08-LiveCD.iso file to make a bootable in my USB drive and install it into my laptop computer.

The boot is OK, but when the screen appears, it asks for a user and password. I dont understand why if Im not installed it yet and didnt define any user / password information.

I dont know if there maybe is some default user/password combination to continue installation?

Could you help me please on this issue or advice which SL7 file have to download ?

Many thanks in advance.

As far as I know there is no default username/password, it should log you straight into the system. Try a different download or try to redownload the file you have and check the shasum

http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/7.2/x86_64/iso/SL-72-x86_64-2016-02-03-LiveCD.iso

It's not supported to upgrade from major version numbers. So if you want to install 7 it's best to do a fresh install.
