Audacious 3.2 for SL 6 / Centos 6 / RHEL 6, my favourite music player

Audacious 3.2.3 RPMs are now available in the 'linuxtech-release' repo.

Quick install instructions:

su - root
cd /etc/yum.repos.d/
wget http://pkgrepo.linuxtech.net/el6/release/linuxtech.repo
yum install audacious

if you want to use Audacious with Pulseaudio (EL6 installs Pulseaudio by default) then also install:

yum install audacious-plugin-pulse

Audacious has a lot of dependencies on libraries. As always I have only tested this RPM with dependencies from the linuxtech repo. Mixing this Audacious RPM with dependencies from other third party repos is completely untested and might cause conflicts and errors.

How to make Audacious look like XMMS:
select: View > Interface > Winamp Classic Interface
after that: right click on the main window to open pop-up menu
then select: View > Interface Preferences...
select the 'Refugee' skin from the list and click on 'Close'

Thanks for testing the Audacious RPMs and for the feedback.

BTW I had never heard of Quod Libet before and I can't find it for SL6.
Did you build it yourself from source?

Actually, you don't need to build anything, it just runs straight from source. It only takes up a little over 3MB of space, too (this is including all the plugins)!

Audacious 3.2.4 RPM packages for EL6 are now available in the linuxtech-testing repo.

The main change (apart from upstream bug fixes) is that now a LIRC (Linux Infrared Remote Control) plugin is included, therefore you can now control Audacious with a suitable IR remote control.

If you test this new release then please provide feedback.

If no problems turn up I will push this into the linuxtech-release repo in about a week.
