You might want to post the outcome of "lspci" here.
That way we can have a look which webcam hardware you have.

Please boot SL and use the command "lspci" in the terminal.
Copy/paste the outcome and post it here.

I assume you have this laptop?

Based on the lspci outcome, for some reason the webcam isn't detected.
Toracat is loose on additional hardware and drivers, hopefully she has a good idea.

Internal webcams in laptops are usually connected via USB, lsusb should show it.

There seems to be a driver available for linux for this webcam, the driver is called r5u870, but I haven't found it for EL6, maybe toracat/Elrepo have it?
