Greetings,

I have an ASUS laptop model N73S.

I was able to install with no problems. Once the machine is booted no problems.
But during boot the screen is blank. I have encrypted partitions and there is no prompt for the password, the screen is completely blank. However if you type in the password it will accept the password and boot up. There is no echo of the characters as you type in the password.

What could be the problem?

Hi ddan,
i think this is again problem of the 2 vga you have (i think you have nvidia optimus righti?)
While using optimus under linux, you can expect problems. Nvidia still doesnt have official drivers for this for linu (as far as i'm aware).
I'd try to use bumblebee, which enables you manual switching at least.

here you can have a look on youtube, what Linus Torvalds says about Optimus and Nvidia ...
linus torvalds comment on nvidia
