I am encountering a error I don't understand. I attempted to update Java and got the following error message:
# yum update
Error: Package: 1:java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.111-2.6.7.2.el6_8.i686 (sl6x-security)
Requires: libsctp.so.1
Error: Package: 1:java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.111-2.6.7.2.el6_8.i686 (sl6x-security)
Requires: libsctp.so.1(VERS_1)

So I then tried
# yum provides libsctp.so.1
Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit, security
Warning: 3.0.x versions of yum would erroneously match against filenames.
You can use "*/libsctp.so.1" and/or "*bin/libsctp.so.1" to get that behaviour

Anyone know the explanation and solution?
Thanks in advance for any help

Running SL 6.7 on old HP box.

try above and install missing lib - or remove java, update, re-install java again .. smile.gif

As for the yum complaint message you got, it complains about the syntax and yum version so ..
cheers
