Hello,
networking is presumably the best place for this question:

I have a home network with at least 3 main PCs that can be online at any one time.

Saving family photos and videos is the most important job that any of these computers will do and at the moment they all have adequate storage for these files.

I would like a solution that creates complete redundany for these files. Is there a P2P solution? My limited knowledge suggests this would be best.

But can you suggest how to maintain these files across 3 computers (SL, Win7, Win8) so when each computer comes online, it will update itself with file changes from the other computers.

It seems a simple question but so far I have not found a solution and am looking for some starting points if you may.

thanks

I think I have just discovered the word "darknet"; is this the direction?
