Hello,
My system currently runs RHEL5.9 and I want to switch to current SL7.4, but I want to test if my applications can be used with new install. I would appreciate help with questions: If I use LiveCD/DVD, can I access my current Home directory or external drives? Can I install and test applications while running OS from LiveCD/DVD? Do I need to mount some HD to test-install applications? What is better for testing - LiveCD or LiveDVD? Thanks for help! |

Your best option is to install a virtual machine used for testing, that way you can install SL7 and try and get your applications run and see what you might run into and try to fix the problems you may encounter.
