I think I know what this means, but I don't know what to do about it.
yum update produces this output, then dies. Suggestions?

I get a different message, but the same problem with Scientific Linux 6.9..
'Error: Package: openvpn-2.4.4-1.el6.i686 (sl-livecd-extra) Requires: liblz4.so.1 You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem' I'm guessing that it's incompatibilities between a modern system distro written on a state of the art computer, and the odd obsolete motherboards in our aging computers.. I get this message on my Toshiba Satellite, and on my Dell Studio. and on the other older desktop Dells.. I'm hoping I can beef up the repository with SCL's 6.5 software choices.. I installed resource monitor with 'add/remove software', but it isn't in the OS, yet it says it's installed..? Where do I get ' liblz4.so.1' ? How do I add the repository from SCL 6.5 to SCL 6.9..? I love Scientific Linux 6.. I am so happy it plays music and videos now.. SCL 6.9 has a perfectly clean customizable screen.. It's Perfect for inventor's rolls and creative writer's rolls.. nothing jumping flashing and dancing in your face to break an ultra-deep cosmic-level creative roll.. I write new sciences, new inventions, and new scifi movie themes, and the wickedest activism on the internet.. Thanks for this lovely distro... On a scale 1 to 10, how secure is SCL 6.9 when net connected to yahoo, google, and youtube..? |
