I was forced to a complete reinstall of SL due to corrupted graphics and I took the chance to upgrade to version 7.4. Not everything is working properly, hence the following questions:

1. Graphics: I have AMD Firepro W5000 graphics. The driver installed by default is named "Pitcairn". Since AMD offers a proprietary driver of its own (with better performance and Opencl support) I would like to know how I can get back from the proprietary AMD driver to the to the presently installed one. This might be necessary because kernel updates did break the proprietary AMD driver integrity repeatedly in the past.

2. Firefox: "View image" with right mouse click does not work for large images.

3. Emacs: The icons under the pull down menu are missing. The areas, where these icons ought to be, are however working as if the icons were still there. I use emacs with auctex extension for LaTeX word processing, therefore I am very interested in a fix.

Has anybody a clue about one of these issues ?

Thanks in advance
