You are probably looking for the bash-completion package. It is available from the EPEL repository (SL6). In SL7, it is included in the distro.

hi,
if you ask about the ability to automatically finish commands by pressing TAB key - you need to have the binary in known PATH

check output of
CODE

echo $PATH


and if your binary is not in the listed PATH then the TAB key wont work, unless you add the path to your profile.
