sl6: boot stops after "Starting libvirtd daemon: [OK]"

hello,

when I boot the system, it hangs after the message "Starting libvirtd daemon: [OK]"

This is the first time for me to meet this since one year ago. Any suggestions?

Thx.

Hello wd1 and welcome to SLF,

I you are running SL6.1 there was a update of xorg-x11-server-Xorg that has caused some issues. So if you see a update for xorg-x11-server-Xorg in recent logs you should try this temporary fix.
CODE
su -c 'yum downgrade xorg-x11-server-Xorg'

But first you will have to boot to runlevel 3. You can just add a 3 to the end of the kernel behind quiet.
Hope this helps,

Thanks, Andrew. This is the answer I had also been looking since bootup first thing this morning.
A cappuccino usually solves, or leads to solving, most problems: I remembered seeing that Xorg update in a pile of updates yesterday. Thanks again. 8-)

Thanks, Andrew. I was locked out of my box. I've had problems with repos though. Is wifi not enabled by default on level 3?
