Hi,
I am completely new to virtualization in SL. I am running SL 6.4, I created virtual machine, but I am unable to set video memory larger than 9 MB, also the maximal video resolution for guest is 640x480, which is too small. I need much higher resolutions. Any hints ? |

The guest is Plan 9 system, at this moment I am worried most about that supervisor sets maximal
amount of graphic memory to 9MB, I can't change this, It deos not matter what type of graphic card. |

Hi, sorry, this topic slipped off my radar 'a bit' (me being at vacation at the time) and i found it 'again' while having a bit of time and reading forums. I know you read/post to our forums - could you share (if you will) how you solved the Plan 9 problem? I find it interesting very much. I dont know Plan 9 - but after internet search it turns out to be a very interesting OS. What are you using it for? Wiki says it's EOL since 2002 .. Anyway as for the low res - yes, KVM is topped at 9MB per guest by default and it can't be changed in 'virt-manager'. But you can change it from CLI (eg. from my laptop): List domains:
Change domains (eg. my windows guest): find the 'vram' setting and increase it from default to what you need
restart libvirt:
Now you see it in virt-manager too. cheers, -------------------- |
