LMMS 0.4.13 is now available in the linuxtech-testing repo.

description:
LMMS aims to be a free alternative to popular (but commercial and closed source) programs like FruityLoops/FL Studio, Cubase and Logic allowing you to produce music with your computer. This includes creation of loops, synthesizing and mixing sounds, arranging samples, having fun with your MIDI-keyboard and much more...

LMMS combines the features of a tracker-/sequencer-program and those of powerful synthesizers, samplers, effects etc. in a modern, user-friendly and easy to use graphical user-interface.

Features

* Song-Editor for arranging the song
* creating beats and basslines using the Beat-/Bassline-Editor
* easy-to-use piano-roll for editing patterns and melodies
* instrument- and effect-plugins
* support for hosting VST(i)- and LADSPA-plugins (instruments/effects)
* automation-editor
* MIDI-support

Quick install instructions:
1) install the linuxtech.repo config file if you don't have it already:
su - root
cd /etc/yum.repos.d/
wget http://pkgrepo.linuxtech.net/el6/release/linuxtech.repo

2) install LMMS:
yum --enablerepo=linuxtech-testing install lmms
3) optionally install the VST hosting plugin for lmms, this requires 'wine' which needs to be installed from the EPEL repo first:
yum --enablerepo=linuxtech-testing install lmms-vst

Please note: LMMS requires 'Wine' (for the VST hosting plugin). 'Wine' is not included in the Linuxtech repository, instead you need to enable the Epel repository which contains the required 'Wine' packages.

Once installed, you will find a lot of demos/example projects under /usr/share/lmms/projects/

Have fun and share your music with us! smile.gif

Then you may have a problem. tux99 has made the relevant packages available for Scientific Linux 6 and not 7. rolleyes.gif

While I have not personally used Nux 's Stella multimedia packages in either SL6 or SL7 ,
it is listed in distrowatch :
http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=stella .
And the LMMS package itself is listed in pkgs.org :
http://pkgs.org/centos-7/nux-dextop-x86_64/lmms-devel-1.0.3-5.el7.nux.x86_64.rpm.html .
.
Here is Nux 's home page : http://li.nux.ro/stella/ .
The repo file is here : http://li.nux.ro/download/nux/dextop/el7/x86_64/nux-dextop-release-0-5.el7.nux.noarch.rpm ;
while the LMSS package itself is here : http://li.nux.ro/download/nux/dextop/el7/x86_64/lmms-1.0.3-5.el7.nux.x86_64.rpm .
...
enjoy
