darktable 1.0.5 packages are now available in the linuxtech-release repo.

description (from official PDF manual, see link below):
Darktable is an application to manage and develop digital photographs. In some ways, it is a digital photo editing software like Photoshop or the GIMP, but it is something more and something less.
With darktable we can organize, rate, tag, sort and search our photograph collections in an easy and intuitive way. We can also develop our digital photographs adjusting colors and composition and applying corrections and filters. Darktable is a not-destructive image processing software that allows you to post-process the images without losing the original picture. Photos can then be exported in the most commonly used formats.
Darktable is not, however, a photo painting software like Photoshop or GIMP, which instead have many more painting effects and functionality.

Manual:
online: http://www.darktable.org/usermanual/
PDF download:

My comment:
darktable is an impressive and very powerful photo processing software (reminiscent of Adobe Lightroom), but it's usage is not very intuitive (at least to me) therefore reading the manual is highly recommended to get the most out of it.
Make sure you check out the PDF manual, it's of professional quality, practically a book, very impressive for a relatively young FOSS project!
The package for EL6 is currently more complete than the Fedora package (which is missing a few dependencies and therefore a few plugins).

Quick install instructions:
1) install the linuxtech.repo config file if you don't have it already:
su - root
cd /etc/yum.repos.d/
wget http://pkgrepo.linuxtech.net/el6/release/linuxtech.repo

2) install darktable:
yum install darktable

Edit (15/06/2013): got round to move this package to the release repo, so updated this post to reflect this

I like this one and I'm using it. However, I'm having trouble scanning a remote smb HDD connected to my router. gThumb has no problem. I basically have my picture folder on the external HDD bookmarked in Nautilus as "Pictures" but Darktable finds Nada.

BTW, the Darktable website has Tux's repo linked for RHEL installs. Nice Job Tux!

Have any ideas?

Hmm, sorry no idea, I haven't used smb shares in years so I wouldn't even begin to know where to debug them.
Maybe ask on the Darktable ML:

Yes, they had no choice anyway, no other EL6 repo has darktable for EL6.
You probably also noticed they chose the SL logo for it, not the Centos or the RHEL logo. http://th166.photobucket.com/albums/u117/rdshear/Smiley%20Faces/th_smiley-face-thumbs-up.gif
