Hi All,
I copied everything from the SL6 disks 1 and 2 onto my local directory, and managed to kickstart-installation of SL6 until the very end when it asked for the " second disk "??? There was no disk, and both disks' data was already on the local directory. How do I bypass this message "second disk" ?? I have tried to merge all data into a single iso but ended up with the " second disk " pop up. Thanks |

My simple solution was just to use the Install DVD instead of the Everything DVDs. There are a few packages missing from the Install DVD but these are easily added after installation. I could probably sort out this issue with VirtualBox but I am not familiar enough with your virtual machine setup to offer an easier solution.

Hi there,
as i gather it, you've tried to create local repository from 2 install DVDs and then install via kickstart file ... I suspect the problem could be if you 'mix' the 2 DVDs in one folder and try to creat one repo of it. Did you try to split it and create 2 independent repositories? e.g. like:
and same for second DVD .. also info from TUV on local repos here: howto create local repository cheers, -------------------- |

Hi,
thanks for getting back to me. I googled and found out SL6.1 (carbon) came with 1 iso contracted to the 6.0 (2 iso). I download SL6.1 and installed it smoothly. No more 2nd disk pop-up. Thanks again |
